On September 8, 2009 the first course in Argentina kicked off in Buenos Aires, with
32 registered participants. The day was a successful intercultural exchange on
all levels; from the partnership with Fundacion Huesped to the
presentations by Pedro Cahn and our very own Debby Heuft.
The
participants, who were mostly physicians from Buenos Aires, but also a few
from Salta, Mendoza and Posadas, completed their training in the beginning of December 2009. As a group they impressed us with
their incredible professional attitude and their preparedness for the
course and the closing workshop. The entire program was a success and was the perfect start for
our activities in Argentina.
And furthermore, we are thrilled that the first HIV[e]Education in Spanish was completed by this enthusiastic group!
"If we value independence, if we are
disturbed by the growing conformity of knowledge, of values, of attitudes, which
our present system induces, then we may wish to set up conditions of learning
which make for uniqueness, for self-direction, and for self-initiated
learning."
(Carl Rogers, American psychologist)
