Health[e]Foundation first made contact with International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh (ICDDR,B) during the INTEREST workshop in Dakar, Senegal in May 2008.

ICDDR,B (previously known locally as the Cholera Hospital) is an international health research institution located in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. With the changing trend in the world scenario in health and population over the years, ICDDR,B has expanded its activities to address some of the most critical global health needs. In collaboration with partners from academic and research institutions throughout the world, the Centre conducts research, training and extension activities as well as program-based activities. The aim of these activities is to develop and promote realistic solutions to the major health, population and nutrition problems facing the poor people of Bangladesh and other settings.

In March 2009 a kickoff meeting was organized together with ICDDR,B to launch the first HIV[e]Education training in Bangladesh, and participants completed their training with a closing workshop at the end of May 2009. We look forward to working again with ICDDR,B in future collaborations.
