As part of the TREAT Asia network, Health[e]Foundation started a pilot in December 2005 together with the Ruby Hall Clinic in Pune, India. TREAT Asia seeks to strengthen HIV/AIDS care, treatment, and management skills among healthcare professionals through education and training programs, which corresponds to the goals of Health[e]Foundation. An unpublished study by the Ruby Hall Clinic showed high rates of prescription errors, inadequate therapy-related counseling, and poor adherence and monitoring as just a few of the problems in HIV/AIDS treatment and care in India.

Health[e]Foundation and the Ruby Hall Clinic, both members of the TREAT Asia network, were therefore happy to organize the pilot together in India. This was made possible through the generous funding of the Dutch AIDS Fonds.

"HIV[e]Education has helped several participants address challenges in their practices, and specifically they've been able to apply adherence skills from the adherence module."
