After the successful completion of the training in Batam in 2007, the second
group started training in 2008 in collaboration with the University of Jakarta.
46 participants enrolled in this training, and upon request of the
participants and in collaboration with the WEB.Foundation, the animation
film Bobo was translated into Bahasa Indonesia.
The first group of participants to receive HIV[e]Education in Bahasa Indonesia completed the course with a closing workshop in November 2009. During the focus groups, we received crucial feedback on the translation so that adjustments could be made accordingly. Furthermore, the participants reported almost no virus problems.
We are grateful to our local collaborators and to those who contributed their expertise during the 2009 workshop, including local speakers, Dr. Toha Muhaimin and Dr. Dyah Waluyo, as well as Evelien de Jong, who joined us from the Free University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
