The Netherlands Gilead

The Netherlands

Health[e]Foundation has been providing trainings to healthcare workers in The Netherlands since 2006. The first HIV[e]Education kickoff in The Netherlands was held during the Dutch HIV Monitoring Foundation's (Stichting HIV Monitoring) reunion day in October 2006. In collaboration with Gilead, HIV counselors in Rotterdam and Utrecht areas were trained in 2007 and 2008 respectively. Since the beginning of 2009, a new group of counselors has been introduced to HIV[e]Education by Gilead. In June a central workshop will be organized in which they can participate. Also former participants, who still have the old program, or would like to receive accreditation points will participate in this workshop.

School Program

Health[e]Foundation has also been active in reaching out to schools in The Netherlands with its Community[e]Education program. In 2008 pilot programs took place in Goirle, Wassenaar, and Utrecht, where schools from distinct levels and backgrounds (International schools and VWO, VMBO schools) participated. Because of its success, the Community[e]Education program continues this year: A training took place in Goirle in May and will be provided again in Wassenaar as well as offered to new schools in the future.

The Netherlands Accreditation Accreditation
In 2008 Health[e]Foundation's programs were accredited for nurses in the Netherlands. The accreditation recognizes the certification provided by Health[e]Foundation to participants who successfully complete the blended learning cycle, which includes attendance of a kickoff meeting and a workshop and completion of all modules.
