Female & Family[e]Education
The Female&Family[e]Education was developed in 2014. It is one of the newest programs of Health[e]Foundation and was written especially for nurses and midwifes working in maternal and newborn health. The aim of Female&Family[e]Education is to provide continuous medical education to these nurses and midwifes. The course is part of an important strategy to reduce maternal and newborn mortality and morbidity rates.
The course contains 18 modules on pregnancy and childbirth such as antenatal care, labor and birth, care of the newborn and breastfeeding. It also focuses on major causes of maternal and newborn complications, morbidity and deaths, such as postpartum hemorrhage, preeclampsia, HIV and prevention of mother to child transmission. It has additional modules on cervical cancer and family planning, all of which contribute to the overall health and wellbeing of women and their newborns.
