Tuberculosis infection is a growing problem worldwide, directly related to HIV infection rates. Healthcare workers in HIV/AIDS need to be aware of tuberculosis (TB) co-infection complications, the Immune Reconstitution Inflammatory Syndrome, and the rise of multi-drug resistant and extensive drug resistant strains of TB. TB[e]Education was designed for all healthcare workers to update their knowlege on TB and HIV co-infection. The course consist of 11 modules.
Modules cover the epidemiology, treatment and care of patients with HIV TB co-infection; TB in children; new diagnostics; new drugs; and the potential for a new TB vaccine, among other topics.
