Health[e]Foundation in the field

On February 15th, 2014, along with project managers Jacqueline McAuley and Lisa Gullbransson, I, Marcel Santoso, the IT guy, departed from Amsterdam Schiphol to Kigali, Rwanda. This was my first trip with HealtheFoundation, my first trip to the continent, Africa and my first trip to Rwanda. With the support of the Merck for Mothers Program we were organizing a closing workshop for the Health[e]Families training and a kick-off workshop for the Health[e]Communities training.

Knitted breast for community health workers in Rwanda

During the kick-off workshop of the Health[e]Communities project in Rwanda the community health workers were provided with knitted breasts for demonstrations of breast-self exam and breastfeeding. The breasts were knitted by volunteers from all over the world.

Closing workshops Treat’n Care[e]Education in Elandsdoorn

End of January 2015 Health[e]Foundation organized two closing workshops in Elandsdoorn, South Africa in collaboration with the Ndlovu Care Group and funded by Stichting Liberty.

Evaluation of the tablets

From October 2014 till January 2015 a group of participants was trained in South Africa with the Treat’n Care[e]Education course as application on a tablet. During the closing workshop the participants expressed their enthusiasm about e-learning via a tablet!
