News / Our return to Senegal: two kick-off workshops in Dakar
Two HIV Treat’n Care[e]Education kick-off workshops were organized in Dakar, Senegal, in collaboration with the University of Dakar, the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs, the Division against AIDS and generously funded by Janssen, Pharmaceutical companies of Johnson & Johnson.
A total of 97 doctors, nurses, midwives and social workers was provided with an USB stick with personal username and password and access to the course. In the kick-off workshop the new participants were introduced to Health[e]Foundation and the e-learning course. The local expert in the field of HIV care, Dr. Alassane Moussa Niang, gave an inspiring lecture on the current status of HIV in Senegal.
After the demonstration of and practice with the USB, all participants felt comfortable to get started with their three months individual e-learning period. During this period they will be supported by their colleagues, the local coordinator Dr. Karim Diop and the Dutch Health[e]Foundation team from the headquarters in Amsterdam.
